Who we are

Vinterest ("we", "us") makes the Vinterest app and this website. You can reach us at hello@vinterest.app. [Company name, registered address and, if required, a data protection contact go here.]

This website

The website doesn't set cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits (which pages, roughly where from, what kind of device). It doesn't use cookies or follow you across other sites.

Joining the beta

If you join the beta list, we collect your first name, last name, country and email address. We use them to invite you to the beta, and to email you about it. We don't sell them or use them for anything else. They're kept in our database (hosted by Supabase) until the beta ends or you ask us to delete them. To be removed, email hello@vinterest.app.

The app

Vinterest keeps your wines, scores, settings and progress on your own device. You don't need an account to use it.

• If you choose to sign in, we store your email address and, so that a backup can follow you to a new phone, a copy of your wines, XP, settings and learning progress in our database. Signing in uses a six-digit code we email you.
• When you scan a label or a wine list, the photo is sent to Claude, an AI service from Anthropic, to read it. Vinterest doesn't keep the photo, and it isn't stored with your wines.
• When you ask Vinny a question or open an article written for you, a short summary of your taste (your top grapes and regions, your scores and what you usually spend) is sent to Claude with the request, so the answer can be about you.
• To show a shop price, the name of a wine (never who you are) may be looked up on the web.
• The app asks you to confirm that you're of legal drinking age. It isn't for anyone under it.

"Delete account" in the app removes your account and everything we hold for it. Deleting the app removes what's on your device.

Who else handles your data

• Cloudflare hosts the website and the app, and provides the analytics above.
• Supabase stores the beta list and, for people who sign in, account backups.
• Anthropic processes label photos and questions, as described above. [Link to Anthropic's terms and your retention settings.]

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Email hello@vinterest.app and we'll respond within a month. If you're in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority. [Legal basis for each use and international transfer wording go here.]

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and, for beta members, by email.
